Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman: Apple to Debut New Macs and iPads at Second Fall Event

Apple is expected to debut its new iPhone 13 lineup, Apple Watch Series 7, and AirPods 3 at Tuesday’s “California Streaming” event. While there have also been rumors that we might also see new iPad and Macs unveiled at the event,  Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman says that will actually take place at a second fall event.

Gurman tweeted to respond to a question about new Macs, saying “there will be two events,” and the second event will feature new iPads and Macs.

In his latest “Power On” newsletter, Gurman said the second event will happen sometime in the next “several weeks.”

While Apple did indeed hold three separate fall events ( in September, October, and November). However, last year was tainted by the coronavirus pandemic, leading Apple to hold streaming-only events for the first time. The iPhone 12 unveiling was delayed until October.

The Cupertino firm is returning to its usual September timeframe to announce the new iPhone 13 lineup.

Apple is reportedly working on an updated MacBook Pro that will boast an “M1X” chip that is an upgrade from the M1 chip. The new MacBook Pro will be available in 14 and 16-inch screen size options. The new MacBook Pros are also expected to boast thinner bezels, a larger display, and a redesigned chassis. It is also expected to bring back the HDMI port as well as an SD card slot.

A new version of the base iPad is in development, as well as a new iPad mini 6, which is expected to be updated with an all-display design.
