Apple today debuted its new iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini. Both models feature a smaller screen notch, improved performance, upgraded cameras, and more.
As expected, the new handsets boast a 20% smaller display notch, allowing for a slightly larger display. The handsets’ new Super Retina XDR display is 28% brighter with 1200 nits peak brightness.
The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini are both powered by a brand new A15 Bionic chip. The A15 Bionic chip, built using a 5nm process, features a 6-core CPU with two high-performance and four high-efficiency cores. A new 16-core Neural Engine is capable of 15.8 trillion operations per second.
A new dual-camera system boasts a 12MP sensor that allows for 47% more light, a 26mm focal length, and the Ultra Wide camera includes sensor-shift technology from the “Pro” iPhones.
A new video “Cinematic mode,” automatically blurs the background during a video, while the subject stays in focus. Users can tap on different subjects to shift focus.
The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini also features Ceramic Shield, IP68 water resistance, and five new colors, including pink, blue, midnight, starlight, and red.
