Chinese language site IT Home says Apple may be planning to launch the iPhone 13 on Friday, September 17, and third-generation AirPods on Thursday, September 30. The publication bases its information on an image of an unidentified e-commerce app that it discovered.
The screenshot, originally posted by Weibo account @PandaIsBald, indicates all four iPhone 13 models will go on sale on September 17, followed by the AirPods 3 on September 30.
Take this report with an extra grain or five of your favorite salt substitute, as images like this can be easily faked, and IT Home offers no other information to back up the claim. Plus, the website has shared inaccurate screenshots in the past.
However, the timeframes mentioned in the report fit the traditional iPhone debut timelines and also jibes with an earlier claim from Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives that suggested the iPhone will launch during the third week of September, which would be the week of September 13 to 17.
The new iPhone 13 lineup is expected to offer improved camera capabilities, with ProRes and portrait mode for videos. The new devices are also expected to boast a smaller screen notch, improved batteries, and increased performance.
Meanwhile, the third-generation AirPods are expected to share a form factor with the AirPods Pro. The new earbuds are expected to sport a shorter stem, new case, and possibly replaceable ear tips.
