Apple iPhone 13 Assembly Partner Foxconn in Search of 200,000 More Workers by End of September

Apple’s top iPhone supplier Foxconn is scrambling to hire 200,000 more workers by the end of September to manufacture the new “iPhone 13” lineup.

The South China Morning Post reports that 200,000 additional workers are needed at Foxconn’s iPhone factory in the Chinese city of Zhengzhou, ahead of the expected launch of the ‌iPhone 13‌ lineup next month. The facility is the world’s largest iPhone factory.

The Zhengzhou factory can handle as many as 350,000 assembly line workers and manufacture up to 500,000 new iPhones every day.

Sufficient manpower has long been an issue, proving to be the “biggest bottleneck” to production at the manufacturing facility, says the site’s deputy general manager, Wang Xue, who was quoted by a local broadcaster. It has been reported that Foxconn was struggling to hire a sufficient number of workers for its iPhone 13 production.

Local governments have pitched in, providing 100 buses to “pick up job applicants from their communities and drop them at the factory gates.” Foxconn believes that it will be able to hire 200,000 new hires by the end of September “at the current speed of recruitment.” Once hired, new workers will be quickly trained for their new positions. position.
