Apple CEO Tim Cook is scheduled to join executives from other tech firms to meet with U.S. President Joe Biden next week to address cybersecurity, reports Bloomberg.
The attended will discuss the efforts made by private companies to improve cybersecurity following a big jump in online attacks during the last year, including the Colonial Pipeline attack and the SolarWinds hack. The information comes from an “official familiar with the event.”
The executives could discuss efforts undertaken by critical infrastructure entities, including those in the banking, energy and water utility sectors, to improve cybersecurity and collaborations with the government. The tech executives are likely to discuss how software can drive better security in the supply chain, the senior official said.
In addition to Cook, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, IBM CEO Arvind Krishna, JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon, and Southern Company CEO Thomas Fanning have also been invited.
