A new rumor from China says the iPhone 13 may support faster charging speeds with a 25W power adapter. The current iPhone 12 only supports fast charging at up to 20W.
According to the rumor, Apple will provide users with support for a 25W power adapter this fall, and with it, it will release its own 25W power adapter as an accessory for purchase. Apple will release its own 25W power adapter alongside the iPhone 13 lineup. Apple’s current 20W power adapter is $19.99 online and in physical Apple retail stores.
Support for faster charging will come alongside expected increases in battery capacities for each of the iPhone 13 models. The increased battery capacities are said to enable more advanced displays on the higher-end models of the handset.
The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are expected to boast LTPO displays, which will offer a better viewing experience with ProMotion 120Hz refresh rate and possibly always-on functionality.
Many Android smartphones already support 25W fast charging, such as the Samsung Galaxy S21.
