Leaker: M2 Chip to Debut in Redesigned MacBook Air in 1st Half of 2022

Leaker: M2 Chip to Debut in Redesigned MacBook Air in 1st Half of 2022

The leaker known as “Dylandkt” claims Apple will launch its “M2” chip inside a redesigned MacBook Air sometime during the first half of 2022.

In a Twitter post, Dylandkt claims the new MacBook Air model is “on track” to launch during the first half of 2022. He says the new MacBook Air will boast an M2 processor as well as a more colorful design. The tweet also claimed Apple’s “M1X” chip is being reserved for high-end “Pro Macs.”

Dylandkt’s claim jibes with a similar tweet by fellow leaker Jon Prosser, who said a next-generation MacBook Air will feature a redesign, iMac-like color options, and will be powered by an M2 chip.

Dylandkt has correctly predicted a number of Apple’s recent product launches. In November 2020, Dylandkt claimed that the next-generation iPad Pro would feature an M1 chip, which was unveiled this spring. He also was correct in predicting a newly redesigned iMac that would be powered by the M1 chip.
