Apple has seeded the fifth beta of macOS Big Sur 11.5 to developers for testing. The new beta comes two weeks after the release of the fourth macOS Big Sur 11.5 beta.
The developer build of macOS Big Sur 11.5 can be downloaded through the Apple Developer Center and once the correct profile is installed, succeeding betas will be available through the Software Update mechanism in System Preferences.
At the time of this article, it appears to be a minor update focusing on under-the-hood performance improvements and bug fixes. We don’t know for sure what else is new in the software updates, but we’ll post an update in this post if we hear anything.
As usual, MacTrast and Apple both warn users to not install any betas on their daily driver iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, or Apple Watch, instead only install betas on a device set aside for testing purposes.
