Apple Card adoption now sits at an estimated 6.4 million users in the United States. The growth is fueled mostly by a strong interest among women. Apple launched its credit card offering in August 2019.
Throughout 2020, the estimated number of Apple Card holders more than doubled, according to estimates based on a December 2020 report by Cornerstone Advisors.
The Apple Card has proven to be popular with women. At the start of the year, about 25% of cardholders were women. By December, that percentage grew to 42%. Cornerstone estimates that 80% of new Apple Card customers in 2020 were women.
The data also indicates that consumers in their 20s and 30s make up 70% of all Apple Card holders. Use by Baby Boomers also grew, as Boomers made up 8% of Apple’s Card’s customer base by the end of 2020, up from 3% at the start of the year.
