Apple has announced a new affiliate program for its upcoming Apple Podcasts Subscriptions platform. The new program will offer users a commission when a podcast link that they share results in a new subscriber.
Apple Podcast Subscriptions, which launch later this month, allow users to subscribe to a podcast and receive perks, like easier access to episodes, exclusive episodes, and an adless listening experience.
Affiliates will receive a 50% commission for any subscriptions resulting from their links. For example, if you link to a podcast subscription costing $10 USD, you will earn $5 USD in equivalent commissions. This payment scales globally based on the local market price and where podcasts are available.
Potential affiliates simply fill out an application and it will be reviewed by Apple. After you’re approved for the program, Apple will give you a unique affiliate token. This is a short string of alphanumeric characters that you will add to all of your Apple Podcasts links. This token is unique to you, centralizes all podcast revenue generated from those affiliated links, and is compatible with third-party link tracking services. When one of your listeners clicks on these links and becomes a paid subscriber, you receive an affiliate commission on all podcast-related subscription purchases made within the next 30 days.
The Apple affiliate program allows users to make commissions on links to the iTunes Store, Apple Music, Apple Books, and Apple TV+.
