Leaked Images of Alleged iPad Pro and iPad mini Suggest Few Changes in New Tablets

Serial leaker Sonny Dickson has posted images of what are allegedly refreshed versions of Apple’s iPad mini and iPad Pro models, giving us a possible idea as to what to expect out of the new tablets.

Dickson this morning shared images on Twitter showing dummy mockup versions of the upcoming 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models, as well as a refreshed iPad mini 6. Dummies are traditionally based on CAD schematics sourced from the Chinese supply chain and are used by case makers to get ready for new devices before they are officially unveiled.

Dickson notes that these are dummy units, there is no display to turn on yet. That makes determining the width of bezels uncertain — but it appears that both the iPad Pro and iPad mini refreshes feature no marked redesigns.

The iPad mini appears to have the same general design as the current model, including the thick bezels on the top and bottom, and a Home button. Dickson suggests the device looks “slightly thicker.”

The iPad Pro dummies appear to have the same dual-lens camera system with LiDAR Scanner. However, the camera bump on the 12.9-inch model appears to protrude a bit less than the 11-inch model does.

The two iPad Pro dummies show all the correct ports, except for the Smart Connector. It is unknown whether the omission of the Smart Connector is intentional or a mistake. It is difficult to detect the exact screen sizes and dimensions of the iPad Pro models from the photos, but no major design changes expected.
