It was expected that Apple’s new 12.9-inch iPad Pro would be in short supply this year, and it appears that prophecy has been fulfilled.
Shipping estimates for most capacities of the new 12.9-inch iPad Pro have slipped to July for orders placed today, although the 2TB model is still showing a June delivery estimate.
128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB models are showing delivery estimates of June 24 to July 8, while the 2TB model is showing delivery estimates between June 2 to June 9.
The iPad Pro became available to order at 5:00 a.m. Pacific Time this morning, and offered shipping dates were of May 21 to May 27 when orders first kicked off, so if you ordered early, you’ll likely get your new iPad Pro in May.
The 11-inch iPad Pro model is still readily available for purchase and is showing a May 21 to 27 delivery date.
The supply shortages are believed to be caused by shortages of the mini-LED display used on the 12.9-inch model.
