21.5-inch iMac Availability Shrinking in Apple Stores Across the U.S.

The availability of the 21.5-inch iMac is shrinking in Apple Stores across the United States. Availability of both the non-4K and 4K models is shrinking, with non-4K shipping dates for online orders slipping by at least a week.

As reported by MacRumors, most Apple Stores‌ are listing the standard 21.5-inch ‌iMac‌ as unavailable for pickup. The high-end 16GB of RAM and 1TB of Fusion Drive configurations are available for delivery but not pickup. No matter the configuration, Apple lists at least five to seven business days for shipping estimates.

21.5-inch iMac with 4K display models are also seeing shrinking stock levels, but so far it remains in stock in most stores. The larger 27-inch iMac’s availability remains normal.

Apple is rumored to be working on an all-new iMac design with a faster Apple silicon chip, but a specific release timeframe is unknown.

While Apple will hold its “Spring Loaded” event next week where new products will be announced.  However, whether or not we’ll see new iMacs at the event remains to be seen.
