Apple industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says Apple has plans to release two new MacBook Pro models boasting an HDMI port as well as an SD card slot during the second half of 2021. Kuo’s comments came via a research note shared by MacRumors.
“We predict that Apple’s two new MacBook Pro models in 2H21 will have several significant design and specification changes,” wrote Kuo. “Some of the practical changes for users are equipping with the SD card reader and HDMI port.”
Kuo also said Taiwan’s Genesys Logic will be the exclusive supplier of the 2021 MacBook Pro SD card reader.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman last month reported that the new MacBook Pros would mark the return of the SD card reader.
Kuo told investors last month that Apple has plans for all-new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models that will boast several changes, including the retirement of the Touch Bar, the return of the MagSafe charging connector, a new flat-edged design, and a wider variety of ports in addition to the current USB-C ports.
