Tim Cook Gifted Former U.S. President Donald Trump ‘First’ 2019 Mac Pro That Came Off the Austin, Texas Assembly Line

Apple CEO Tim Cook gifted former United States President Donald Trump with the first 2019 Mac Pro that rolled off of the assembly line in Austin, Texas. The news comes via a financial disclosure report that was released today.

As reported by David Enrich from the New York Times and noted by The Verge, the gift apparently didn’t include wheels or a monitor. “‌Mac Pro‌ Computer, the first created at the Flex Factory in Austin, Texas,” reads the entry, which values the machine at $5,999, the base price for a ‌Mac Pro‌. It also states that the gift was offered by Cook himself.

President Trump toured the Flex plant in Austin, Texas, in late 2019 to promotes his administration’s promise to boost American production of products. Apple has used Flex to build Mac Pro models since at least 2013. At the time, Cook said that he was “proud” to build the new ‌Mac Pro‌ in the United States.

Apple continues to manufacture Mac Pro models in the United States for use by customers in the U.S., while models sold in other countries are still assembled in China.
