Apple Working With Microsoft to Bring Xbox Series X Controller Support to Apple Devices

Apple is working with Microsoft to bring support for the Xbox Series X controller to Apple devices, says an Apple Support page.

The support page, spotted by a Reddit user, discusses how to connect controllers to Apple devices. Apple devices currently only support the Xbox Wireless Controller with Bluetooth, Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, Xbox Adaptive Controller, PlayStation DualShock 4 Wireless Controller, and various other MFi Bluetooth controllers.

However, at the end of the supported controller list is a small note:

Microsoft and Apple are working together to bring compatibility for the Xbox Series X controller to customers in a future update.

Currently, Apple devices don’t officially support any of the next-generation controllers, including the Xbox Series X controller, the Sony PlayStation 5 DualSense Controller, or the Amazon Luna Controller. However, code mentioning the PlayStation 5 and Amazon Luna controllers has been spotted in the iOS 14.3 and iPadOS 14.3 betas.
