As is almost a certainty with any new device, iPhone 12 users are reporting some issues with their new precious. Perhaps the most noticeable one for users is an issue with the display flickering and having a greenish tint.
These complaints have been showing up all over, including on Apple’s Support Communities page, with no fix currently available. However, it seems Apple has taken note of the issues and is working on a fix.
MacRumors acquired an official Apple document that was sent to Apple Authorized Service Providers. In the document, Apple tells technicians to hold off on servicing the display issues, for now, telling them to instead advise owners to keep their iPhone software up to date. This indicates that Apple thinks the issues can be fixed with a software patch and is working on a fix.
The display issues appear to be affecting all four iPhone 12 models (the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro max). Users say the issue rears its ugly head when the device’s display brightness is set to anything below 90%. The issue has also been reported by users with the iOS 14.3 beta installed on their handset.
iPhone 12 users are advised to keep their device updated and if you are experiencing these issues, you can assist Apple in squashing the bugs by providing a detailed report of the bug to Apple.
