A Chinese Weibo account going by the name “Kang” this morning posted what it says is accurate information about every product to debut at next Tuesday’s Apple event. The list includes information on the entire iPhone 12 lineup.
An image of the original Chinese-language post has been tweeted by the leaker Ice Universe, who has proved to have accurate information on previously unreleased Apple products.
The following details in English rely on a machine translation of the original post (Via MacRumors):
iPhone 12 Mini (5.4-inches)
iPhone 12 (6.1-inches)
iPhone 12 Pro (6.1-inches)
iPhone 12 Pro Max (6.7-inches)
The leak claims all four iPhone 12 models will boast OLED Super Retina XDR displays and a new hardened “Ceramic Shield” glass screen. All models are said to be capable of shooting Dolby Vision video, offering a higher dynamic range.
In addition, all of the iPhones will support 5G, but allegedly only U.S. models of the iPhone 12 lineup will support the faster mmWave 5G band.
The leak also includes other details, such as the iPhones’ “Smart Data Mode” ability to switch between 4G and 5G depending on bandwidth needs to save power; iPhone 12 photography improvements for Deep Fusion and Night Mode; a “47% larger sensor” on the iPhone 12 Pro Max compared to the iPhone 12 Pro; and a special “Expansive” super wide-angle camera mode for the Max model.
Also included in the leak is info on the much-rumored HomePod mini and an alleged “MagSafe” iPhone 12 case, along with two wireless charges. However, the leak does not include any info about Apple’s much-rumored Tile-like “AirTags” accessories or “AirPods Studio” headphones.
While the leaker “Kang” reportedly has a reliable track record, reports like these are to be taken with a grain of your favorite low-sodium seasoning. Nothing is set in stone until Tuesday when Apple executives take the virtual stage to unveil their new products.
