Hey, here’s a shocking report. Samsung’s Galaxy S21, which will debut in 2021, may not include headphones or a power adapter in the box, according to reports by Korean media sites.
When Apple announced it would not be including headphones or a charger in the box with its new iPhone 12, Samsung wasted no time in taking to social media to mock the iPhone maker for the move.
However, Samsung has a history of mocking Apple for its pioneering moves in the smartphone space and then making the same move with its handsets. For example, Samsung also mocked Apple for removing the headphone jack from the iPhone 7 in 2016, before following suit with its 2018 Galaxy S8.
Apple’s iPhone 12 models ship with just a USB-C to Lightning cable. When the Cupertino firm announced the change it promoted the fact that it was removing the accessories for environmental reasons. To be honest, it also saved money for the company, which was trying to cut costs to allow for the new expense of the 5G modems used in the new iPhones.
Now, numerous reports indicate Samsung will remove the earphones and charger from its S21 lineup next year. It should be noted that some reports indicate that Samsung will offer the power adapter while removing the headphones from the box.
What a surprise.
