iPhone 12 mini Has 2,227 mAh Battery, Larger Than the 2020 iPhone SE

The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro became available for pre-order in the US and many other countries today. However, there are still a few countries where Apple is still preparing to launch pre-orders.

New documents shared today by ANATEL — Brazil’s agency equivalent to the FCC — reveal the battery capacity of the iPhone 12 mini, in addition to Apple’s plans to assemble the iPhone 12 line in additional countries. (Via 9to5Mac)

ANATEL certified today the battery of the new iPhone 12 mini, which is expected to hit stores in November. The certified battery component is identified as “A2471” and the certification information shows the battery has a capacity of 2,227mAh. That’s 18% more than the 2020 iPhone SE 2020, which has a 1,821 mAh battery.

Apple says the iPhone mini offers up to 15 hours of video playback, while the 2020 iPhone SE and iPhone 8 can reach up to 13 hours. However, both offer less than the 17-hour battery life listed for the iPhone 11 — which is equipped with a 3,110 mAh internal battery.

In addition to the battery information, the ANATEL documentation also notes that the iPhone 12 Pro will be assembled at Foxconn units in Brazil and India, in addition to the usual China-based facilities. Apple has been assembling some of its products in these countries for quite a while now, as they both offer tax incentives to companies that build their products locally, and because it lessens the company’s reliance on China.
