The first unboxing video of the fourth-generation iPad Air has been shared online. The new video gives us the first non-Apple-controlled look at the new tablet’s Sky Blue color, packaging, and the new Touch ID built into the power button.
The unboxing video by Tech107 is one of the first close looks at the fourth-generation iPad Air, but it will surely not be the last, as we expect a deluge of unboxings and reviews from the press this week.
The new iPad Air features five different finishes (silver, space gray, rose gold, green, and sky blue), a larger 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display, boasts camera and audio upgrades, a new integrated Touch ID sensor in the top button, and the powerful A14 Bionic for a massive boost in performance.
The new iPad Air has gone the same route as its big brother, the iPad Pro, featuring a USB-C port instead of a Lightning connector. The device also features the same 12-megapixel rear camera used in the iPad Pro, offering higher-resolution photos and 4K video recording.
Pre-orders of the fourth-gen iPad Air began on Friday, 16 October, and the first shipments are scheduled to arrive on Friday, 23 October.
