Apple Pulls Issues-Plagued Safari 14 and Security Updates for macOS Mojave

Apple Pulls Issues-Plagued Safari 14 and Security Updates for macOS Mojave

Apple has reportedly pulled the latest macOS Mojave Security Update (2020-005), as well as the Safari 14 for macOS Mojave download from availability.

MacRumors reports that both the Mojave Security Update and the Safari 14 update were causing numerous issues for users still running macOS Mojave, as explained by Mr. Macintosh.

It appears that macOS Mojave users that installed the above updates were experiencing memory issues, slow boot times, Finder stalling issues, multiple system.log entries, and crashes when attempting to use Migration Assistant, as well as other issues. The complaints started soon after its September 24 release, but the update was not pulled by Apple until yesterday.

If you’re a Mojave user that has installed the Mojave Security Update or Safari 14 already, you can expect to soon see another update that fixes the above bugs. It has been reported that reverting to a Time Machine backup, doing a reinstall of macOS Mojave, or installing macOS Catalina are also fixes for the issues.

We’ll keep you posted.
