Apple Offering Apple TV+ Subscribers Up to Three Months of Free Trial Access

Rene Ritchie says Apple is providing up to three free months of service to Apple TV+ subscribers, extending their subscriptions up to February 2021.

The free trial period will extend the one-year-long free trial periods of people who purchased a device beginning in September 2019 and signed up for access when the ‌Apple TV‌+ streaming service launched on November 1, 2019.

This means that those that signed up for the free first year at launch will now have free access to Apple TV+ until the end of February, based on their subscription date.

Subscribers who paid for an annual plan or a monthly plan will also be credited $4.99 for each month through February. 9to5Mac reports that the credits to be received by ‌Apple TV‌+ subscribers who pay can be used on anything from the iTunes Store or App Store.

If you signed up for a free year of Apple TV+ service following a device purchase between November and January of 2019 you will still benefit a bit, with those subscriptions now expiring later than expected.

If you signed up for a free year after January 31, 2020 will not benefit, as their free trials will extend beyond the extra promotional limits.

Ritchie doesn’t explain as to why Apple decided to spring for extra months on the Apple TV+ trial offer. But it may be that Apple has decided to do so because of coronavirus production difficulties that have limited its expected Apple TV+ content offerings.

If you haven’t seen the bonus months show up in your expiation date yet, don’t panic, the extra months will take some time to roll out. Credits will be automatically applied to user accounts with no need for any actions on the part of the user.
