Apple will officially release iOS 14, iPadOS 14, watchOS 7, and tvOS 14 to the public on Wednesday, September 16. The Golden Master seeds of all of these operating systems were seeded to developers earlier today.
All of the new operating systems bring new features to Apple’s venerable devices.
iOS 14 offers a newly customizable Home Screen with redesigned widgets, a new App Clips feature, updates to Messages, and much more. iOS 14 will support all iOS 13-compatible devices.
iPadOS 14 offers made-for-iPad app designs, compact UIs for Siri, Search, and calls, new handwriting features with Apple Pencil, and more. iPadOS 14 will support all iPadOS 13-compatible devices.
watchOS 7 features watch face sharing, automatic handwashing detection, sleep monitoring, and more. watchOS 7 is compatible with Apple Watch Series 3, Apple Watch Series 4, or Apple Watch Series 5 paired with iPhone 6s or later running iOS 14 or later.
tvOS 14 brings Picture in Picture mode, a new Home app in tvOS 14 allows HomeKit-connected devices to be controlled right from the TV, multiple user support in Apple Arcade, support for Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 and Xbox Adaptive Controllers. and more.
Apple did not announce a release date for macOS Big Sur.
