Apple is likely planning to announce the date for its iPhone 12 unveiling event as soon as this week. Although at least one well-known Apple leaker believes a press release could be to announce new iPad and Apple Watch models.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman announced on Twitter that Apple could announce the date for its iPhone 12 (virtual) event as soon as this week. Apple may also unveil its Apple Watch Series 6 and new iPad models at the event, and likely offer details on the release schedule for iOS 14 and watchOS 7.
I wouldn’t get too excited about rumors of new Apple products appearing this week. More likely I think: an announcement of the upcoming (of course virtual) September iPhone/Apple Watch event.

Gurman’s tweet came on the heels of a tweet by noted leaker Jon Prosser, which claimed that an Apple press release is scheduled for Tuesday morning. Prosser had previously said that new Apple Watch and iPad models would arrive via press release in the week of September 7. This claimed Tuesday press release would seem to be for those products.
Apple press release is currently scheduled for Tuesday (September 8) at 9:00am EST — though, I should note that it’s not locked in until the press has been briefed, day of.
I’ll tweet early that morning to update you if it changes.

One thing is or sure, we can expect some time of announcement from Apple in the near future. Apple has recently registered eight Apple Watches and seven iPads in Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) filings. We’ve also seen a leak of an alleged iPad Air manual.
