Leaker John Prosser and EverythingApplePro have both posted screenshots said to be sourced from a test model of the upcoming 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max. The photos suggest the new flagship iPhone will feature a 120Hz display as well as a LiDAR Scanner.
Prosser’s posting shows screenshots that are allegedly from a PVY (production validation test) model of the 6.7-inch iPhone. The settings have a toggle to enable “LiDAR” for “assisted auto focus and subject detection for Video and Night Mode.”

There is an option to “Enable High Refresh Rate,” while an “Enable Adaptive Refresh Rate,” setting says “the device will alter the refresh rate from 120Hz to 60Hz in accordance to the content displayed on-screen.”
Rumors have floated about the internet that some iPhone 12 models will feature 120Hz ProMotion display technology, However, recent reports sourcing some analysts say Apple may be facing supply chain issues with 120Hz display driver ICs for the iPhone 12 Pro. THis means Apple may go with the 60Hz displays for another model year or will delay the launch of its iPhone 12 Pro models.
Prosser says some 6.7-inch PVT iPhone models will be equipped with 120Hz displays, while others will not. The alleged settings screenshots do show the existence of both options.
As for the LiDAR scanner, there have been several rumors that mention the iPhone 12 Pro’s support of a LiDAR scanner feature, much like the scanner added to the 2020 iPad Pro models. Both LiDAR technology and 120Hz displays if included on the 2020 iPhone lineup will be high-end features.
As mentioned by MacRumors, there is some questionable wording in the screenshots, including spelling, capitalization, and wording that Apple usually does not use. One screenshot uses the UK spelling “behaviour,” for example, and Hz is not properly capitalized. Meanwhile, another screenshot shows a misspelled mention of “Zoom Capabilities,” and there is a reference to “Slow Mo,” when Apple refers to it as “Slo Mo.”
Prosser claims the wording is “written for people testing the units.” While the screenshots could be either real or faked, Prosser says he has a video of the PVT iPhone 12 showing these settings and will share it in the near future.
Prosser has also shared a video that features the camera settings screenshots and also allegedly shows the iPhone 12 Pro Max. The notch depicted in the video shared by Prosser appears to be the same size as the current notch.
Meanwhile, EverythingApplePro has shared the same screenshots on what is allegedly an iPhone 12 Pro Max test device. These screenshots show an “AM” notation next to the time, which is said to be due to the extra display space on either side of the device.

EverythingApplePro claims that the 6.7-inch iPhone has a resolution of 2788 x 1284 resolution with 458 pixels per inch, and repeats a previous rumor that the new iPhones will not include a power adapter.
