Victoria, Australia Apple Stores Reclosing Following Return of COVID-19 Lockdown

Four Apple Stores located in Victoria, Australia will reclose for up to six weeks from July 9, thanks to a new spike in COVID-19 coronavirus infections in the area.

As reported by 9to5Mac, Apple Highpoint in Melbourne reclosed on July 2 as the pandemic spike prompted a renewal of stage three lockdown measures across the state capital.

Apple’s other retail stores in Victoria will also reclose. They include ChadstoneSouthlandDoncaster, and Fountain Gate. Those four stores had been operating on a reduced pickup and appointment-only Genius Support service since last week.

The renewed stay-at-home measures are expected to last at least six weeks, with only essential “out and about” activities like purchasing food and medicine allowed. Although shopping malls and retailers are allowed to stay open, restaurants and cafes have been ordered to shutter their locations.
