It was a day of updates on Wednesday, with updates for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS. Apple also released new 13.4.8 software for the HomePod.
Apple’s release notes indicate that the update brings no new features, and instead focuses on “general improvements for stability and quality.”
The new HomePod software release is the first in two months (the last release was version 13.4.5, which was also a “general improvements for stability and quality” release.
While the HomePod software is installed automatically, users can also manually update their HomePod by doing the following:
A white spinning light appears on the top of HomePod while it’s updating. The update might take some time. Don’t unplug HomePod until the update is complete.
