Apple’s online store is currently showing the LG UltraFine 5K Display as “currently unavailable” in numerous regions. This suggests the product may be soon discontinued, or it could mean LG is facing coronavirus-related supply constraints.
Online Apple Stores in Brazil, Canada, the U.S., and the UK list the 27-inch LG UltraFine 5K as “Currently Unavailable.” The webpage does not indicate when the stock might be replenished.
Customers had been facing longer than usual shipping quotes, suggesting LG is facing supply constraints. The Korean electronics maker is possibly facing coronavirus-related issues. Or, a new 5K display could be on its way. Another possibility is that this is the end of the joint Apple and LG project.
In May 2019, Apple listed the UltraFine 5K as “Sold Out” on its online storefront before it released a refreshed model in July.
The LG UltraFine 5K Display may be out of stock at Apple, but you can purchase the display from other sources. At the time of this article, Amazon has the display for $1,173.59.
