Ming-Chi Kuo: Apple to Launch 10.8-Inch iPad in 2020, 8.5-Inch iPad Mini in 2021

Well-connected Apple industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says Apple has plans to debut a new 10.8-inch iPad in the second half of 2020, followed by a new 8.5-inch iPad in the first half of 2021. Kuo’s comments come in a Sunday research note obtained and shared by MacRumors.

Kuo did not specify whether the new 10.8-inch iPad model will replace the existing 10.2-inch iPad of the 10.5-inch iPad Air. He has specified in the past that the 8.5-inch model will replace the current iPad mini. The iPad mini received its last refresh in March 2019, receiving an A12 Bionic processor, upgraded front camera, and support for the original Apple Pencil.

Kuo says he expects Apple to include a 20W power adapter in the box with both iPads. He also commented on Sunday that he expects the 20W power adapter to be an optional accessory for the iPhone 12 lineup, as the 2020 iPhone lineup would not include a charger (or EarPods) inside the box.
