Apple’s iOS 13 Installed on 92% of All iPhones Made in Last Four Years

Apple is preparing to debut its next-generation version of iOS (iOS 14), so now seems like a good time to check in on the installation numbers of its current model, iOS 13, which is installed on 92 percent of all iPhones that have debuted over the last four years.

As for other versions of iOS, seven percent of the iPhone released in the last four years are running iOS 12, while two percent are running an earlier version of the mobile operating system.

Installations of iOS 13 on all iPhones, including those more than four years old, measure in at 81 percent, with 13 percent running iOS 12, and six percent run an older version of iOS.

On the iPad side of things, 93 percent of all iPads introduced in the last four years are running iPadOS 13, while just five percent run iOS 12, and a mere one percent run an earlier version of iOS.

As for all iPads still in use (include those older than four years old), 73 percent run iPadOS 13, 16 percent run iOS 12, and 11 percent run an earlier version of iOS.

At the end of January (which was the last time Apple announced adoption numbers), ‌iOS 13‌ was installed on 77 percent of iPhones released in the last four years, and 79 percent of iPads released in the last four years.

Apple will unveil iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 on Monday, June 22, during its virtual WWDC 2020 keynote. While betas will likely be made available to developers soon after the keynote, it will be released to the public later this year, likely alongside the release of the 2020 iPhone lineup.
