Apple has launched its annual “Back to School” promotion in the United States and Canada. Apple is changing it up a bit this year, as it is offering AirPods with the purchase of an eligible new Mac or iPad. For the last five years, Apple has offered Beats.
Qualifying students and educators can score a free set of second-generation AirPods with a standard wired charging case when they purchase a new MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, iMac Pro, iPad Pro, or iPad Air. At checkout, the AirPods can be upgraded to second-generation AirPods with a wireless charging case for $40 or to AirPods Pro for $90.
As is usual for the Back-to-School promotion, the standard iPad, iPad mini, Mac mini, and refurbished products are not eligible for the deal.
Students also get Apple’s educational pricing, which saves them up to $200 off a Mac and up to $100 off an iPad Pro. The Back-to-School promotion runs until September 29, 2020 and is available through Apple’s education store website, at Apple’s retail stores, or by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE.
Users taking advantage of the Apple Card Monthly installments offer will receive an instant credit of $159, which will be applied as a discount to their eligible iPad or Mac at the time of purchase. The cost of the AirPods will then be billed in six monthly installments. More details about the deal are available in Apple’s full terms and conditions for the promotion.
