Apple has created an official verified account on the popular short video social networking service TikTok. The Cupertino firm has yet to post anything on its account.
If you’d like to take a look at an account with no content, you can check for the username @apple on the TikTok website or in the TikTok app.
The new account is just the latest social networking account set up by Apple, as it has steadily increased its social presence over the last several years. The Cupertino firm has accounts on Instagram and accounts on Twitter.
At this point in time, we’re not exactly sure what Apple plans to do with the new TikTok account. Perhaps it could use it to promote “Shot on iPhone” videos as it does on Instagram, or maybe it will support the advertising effort it is already running on TikTok.
The Chinese-owned social media app has soared in popularity in recent times, with over a billion downloads of the service’s apps, which allow users to share short music videos or looping videos of other kinds for other TikTok users to view.
