Apple today seeded the first betas of iOS 13.4.5 and iPadOS 13.4.5 updates to public beta testers. The initial public seed comes one day after the second beta releases of iOS and iPadOS 13.4.5 to developers.
Beta builds are available to public beta testers and can be downloaded over the air after the proper profile has been installed from the public beta testing site.
When the public beta builds of the new operating systems are ready, they can be downloaded via the Apple Beta Software Program website by users signed up to take part in the testing program. If you’re interested in trying out the betas of the upcoming operating systems you can sign up for the program by clicking the same link.
While the new beta appears to contain mostly bug-fixes, it does appear to contain a few new features.
As noted by MacRumors, it may address an issue with Personal Hotspot that prevents it from working for some users and it could also fix a VPN-related vulnerability.
9to5Mac discovered the while listening to a song in Apple Music, a user can tap the Share button and then select Instagram to generate a Story with the song title and album name, plus a matching animated background.
Once a song is shared on Instagram, other people should then be able to tap on the song name and listen to it in the Apple Music app.
The above new features may or may not make it into the final version of iOS 13.4.5, only time and testing results will tell.
As usual, MacTrast and Apple both warn users to not install any betas on your daily driver iPhone or iPad, instead only install betas on a device set aside for testing purposes.
