Image on Apple Education Site Possibly Leaks Upcoming Version of Logic Pro X

An image on Apple’s education products site appears to leak an unreleased version of Logic Pro X, Apple’s audio editing software designed for professional use.

The image, which was spotted by a Reddit user, shows Logic Pro X, but with a screen that includes elements not offered in the currently-available version of the app. The screenshot, showing the app running on a 16-inch MacBook Pro, appears to show Logic Pro X’s version of GarageBand’s Live Loops.

Currently, the only way to use Live Loops in Logic Pro X, is to share a Live Loops project from GarageBand for iOS. The Live Loops feature was added to GarageBand for iOS in January 2016. The feature allows users to create music by tapping cells and columns in a grid to trigger looped instruments and samples.

Live Loops offers Apple-created loop templates in multip music genres, including Hip Hop, Dubstep, EDM, Rock, and more. Apple offers a number of downloadable Sound Packs. Users can also create their own.

Apple tends to update Logic Pro X approximately every three months or so. The last update for the app was three months ago, (version 10.4.8) which indicates the app is ready for an update.

Last week, Apple began offering 90-day trials of Logic Pro X and Final Cut Pro X.
