Apple on Wednesday seeded the first beta of their upcoming iOS 13.4.5 and iPadOS 13.4.5 updates to developers for testing. The new beta comes just one week after the public releases of iOS 13.4 and iPadOS 13.4. Apple had been expected to release the first beta of iOS 13.4.1 this week, there hasn’t been any word on why they decided to jump to version 13.4.5 instead.
Beta builds are available to developers over the air on the devices with the proper configuration installed. Developers can also download the new betas from the Apple Developer Center. On the iPhone 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro Max, the beta must be installed using the configuration profile.
While the new beta appears to contain mostly bug-fixes, it does contain at least one new feature.
9to5Mac discovered the while listening to a song in Apple Music, a user can tap the Share button and then select Instagram to generate a Story with the song title and album name, plus a matching animated background.
Once a song is shared on Instagram, other people should then be able to tap on the song name and listen to it in the Apple Music app.
The above new features may or may not make it into the final version of iOS 13.4.5, only time and testing results will tell.
As usual, MacTrast and Apple both warn users to not install any betas on your daily driver iPhone or iPad, instead only install betas on a device set aside for testing purposes.
