Google has released a new version of its Gmail app for iOS devices, adding the ability to allow users to upload attachments from Apple’s Files app.
The feature is currently rolling out, so it might not yet be available to you. When the feature does become available, you’ll be able to tap the paperclip icon when you’re composing or replying to a message in the Gmail app. You’ll see a sheet appear with sections for “Camera roll” and “Attachments” (previously named “Recent attachments”).
The new Attachments area will feature a special folder icon you can tap to directly access the contents of the files app on your iOS device. The feature allows access to the native search and selection tools of the Apple Files extension.
The Gmail app for iOS is a free download from the App Store. [GET IT HERE]
