Apple has begun offering certified refurbished 16-inch MacBook Pro models to its international customers for the first time. The Cupertino firm had previously only offered refurbished 16-inch models in its U.S. online store.
All refurbished models are priced 15% less than the equivalent brand-spanking-new models. In the United Kingdom, for example, a Silver 16-inch MacBook Pro 2.6GHz 6-core Intel Core i7 is £2,039, down from £2,399, which is a £360 saving on the original price.
In addition to the United Kingdom’s online store, refurbished 16-inch MacBook Pro models have also been sighted in the Germany and Japan online stores.
Apple says refurbished buyers will receive a “like new” device with genuine Apple replacement parts (as needed) that has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. Refurbished iOS devices will come with a new battery and outer shell. Every device will come with all accessories, cables and operating systems. All Apple Certified Refurbished products are packaged in a brand-new white box and will be sent to you with free shipping and returns.
As with new models, users can also purchase AppleCare+ for Mac for £399 to extend the warranty to three years.
