Apple on Tuesday seeded the second beta of their macOS Catalina 10.15.3 to developers for testing. The new beta comes just nearly a month after the first beta of macOS Catalina 10.15.3 and the public release of macOS Catalina 10.15.2.
The new developer build can be downloaded from the Apple Developer Center by participants in the program, or as a software update for Macs that have the proper profile installed from the Developer Center.
macOS Catalina 10.15.3 includes code that suggests a new “Pro Mode” for the Mac. The new mode appears to be an optional setting that overrides fan speed limits and energy-saving restrictions to improve a Mac’s performance. While the code says that apps “may run faster,” the new mode could decrease battery life while increasing fan noise.
If anything else new is discovered in the new beta of macOS Catalina 10.15.3 release, we’ll be sure to let you know in this space.
