Apple today released a new firmware update for their new AirPods Pro wireless earbuds. The firmware update is 2B588, up from 2B584, which was the original version of the firmware that the AirPods Pro shipped with.
Apple hasn’t yet announced what is included in today’s firmware update, but if we hear anything we’ll be sure to update this article to include the information.
The new firmware should update automatically when you connect your AirPods Pro to your iPhone or iPad. However, it could take awhile for the new firmware to roll out to all users. There isn’t any way to manually force the update, so be patient, it should show up in due time.
Here’s how to check the firmware version of your AirPods Pro earbuds:
- Launch the Settings app on your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad.
- Tap “General.”
- Tap “About.”
- Scroll down to “AirPods Pro,” and tap that.
- The current firmware version number is listed under “Firmware Version.”
As mentioned above, the new firmware is version 2B588.
