Apple to Donate $1 to (RED) for Each Apple Store Purchase Made With Apple Pay Ahead of World AIDS Day

Apple has announced they it will donate $1 to (RED) for every purchase made using Apple Pay through the Apple Store app, on Apple.com or at a physical Apple Store through December 2, up to a total of $1 million. Apple made the announcement on their (PRODUCT)RED information page.

Since 2006, Apple has raised over $220 million for (RED) through the sale of red-colored products and accessories, including but not limited to iPhones, iPhone cases, and Apple Watch bands.

Apple says 100% of the proceeds generated by (RED) partners goes to fund HIV/AIDS programs in Africa, as part of The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria.

Your support means fewer babies are born with HIV.

In the year 2000, 1200 babies were born every day with HIV.
Today that number has been reduced to 400.

World AIDS Day is on December 1, and many Apple Stores traditionally turn their logos red during the first week of December. That tradition will likely continue this year.
