Spotify today updated its iOS app to include iOS 13 Siri support, allowing iPhone and iPad users running the latest version of iOS and iPadOS to control their music on the popular service by using Siri.
After installing the update, users can simply ask Siri to play a playlist, album or song “with Spotify.”
What’s New
Version 8.5.26
We’re always making changes and improvements to Spotify. To make sure you don’t miss a thing, just keep your Updates turned on.
Bug fixes and improvements in this version include:
– Siri available on iOS 13: Control your Spotify listening experience on iPhone, iPad, Carplay, AirPods, and HomePod via Airplay.
– Low data mode on iOS 13: Spotify will now turn on Data Saver when your device’s Low Data Mode is turned on.
– Spotify now available on Apple TV: Download it via the tvOS App Store or enable “automatically install apps” in tvOS settings to install it.
Spotify says Siri can be used to control your Spotify listening experience on iPhone, iPad, Carplay, AirPods, and HomePod via Airplay.
Spotify also gains the ability to turn on Data Saver when your device’s Low Data Mode is turned on.
The streaming service is “now available on Apple TV.” although it isn’t showing up in the tvOS App Store, as of this writing, so the rollout will likely take place later today. If “automatically install apps” is enabled in the tvOS settings, the app will be automatically installed.
The Spotify app is free and is available for the iPhone, iPad, and now the Apple TV, in the App Store. [GET IT HERE]
