Ming-Chi Kuo: ‘iPhone SE 2’ Production to Begin in Early 2020 – Will Feature Improved Antenna Design

The much-rumored “iPhone SE 2” will boast an LCP (liquid crystal polymer) antenna design for improved wireless transmission, says well-connected Apple industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Kuo’s latest predictions comes via a research note with TF Securities on Monday (via MacRumors). Kuo says Career Technologies and Murata Manufacturing will begin providing Apple with antenna components for the ‌iPhone SE 2‌ in early 2020. That would be in time for a late first quarter 2020 release.

Kuo has previously said the iPhone SE 2 will sport a design similar to the iPhone 8, with a 4.7-inch display and a Touch ID button. However, the new handset is said to boast a faster A13 Bionic chip with 3GB of RAM. The device is said to lack 3D Touch and will instead feature a software-based Haptic Touch feature in its place.

Kuo expects the device to be available with 64GB and 128GB storage option, and to offer Space Gray, Silver, and Red color options. He believes pricing for the device will start at $399 in the United States.
