Apple is targeting a 2020 release for its much-rumored augmented reality headset, says a new report from Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman. However, that deadline could be pushed back a bit if the product proves to need more development.
The Bloomberg report claims the glasses will pair wirelessly with an iPhone to display information such as emails, messages, maps and more over the wearer’s field of vision. Users could also play games on their headset, and an App Store for the headset is reportedly being considered.
Other releases could also see the light of day in 2020, says Gurman. Apple Watch models with sleep tracking and Macs using custom Apple-designed ARM processors could also debut.
While Gurman has an excellent track record for predictions such as these, any report like this should be taken with a grain of your favorite low-sodium seasoning. None of these predictions are written in stone until Apple makes an official announcement.
