watchOS 6.01 Update Now Available – Fixes Silent Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse Watch Face Issue

Apple on Monday released watchOS 6.0.1, the first update to the watchOS 6 operating system. The update, the first since the initial release of watchOS 6, provides improvements and bug fixes, including an issue where the Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse watch face does not speak time.

The watchOS 6.0.1 update can be installed on your Apple Watch via the Apple Watch app on the device’s attached iPhone. Go to “General” -> “Software Update” to install the new software. The Apple Watch should have at least 50% battery life, be connected to a charger, and be in range of the iPhone.

The update, while a minor one, does fix an irritating bug associated with the popular Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse watch faces.

From Apple’s release notes:

watchOS 6.0.1 optimizes performance, provides security updates, and contains improvements and bug fixes, including:
– Resolves an issue where the Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse watch face does not speak time
– Addresses an issue where the calendar complication may not display events
– Fixes a bug that could result in a loss of display calibration data
