MiniWiki for Apple Watch Adds ‘Random’ Articles, Independent Language Feature

One of my favorite Apple Watch apps. MiniWiki, has received an update. The app – an unofficial Wikipedia app developed by Will Bishop, who also developed Chirp for Twitter – has added a random article feature, as well as the ability to set a different language inside MiniWiki than the Apple Watch language.

MiniWiki is an Apple Watch app that offers the ability to search for specific topics and to find entries based on nearby places where you travel. Users can also pay for Pro features that allow downloading of articles for reading them offline, a handoff feature to read the article on your iPhone, and a Bookmark feature to allow you to come back to the article on your iPhone

What’s New

MiniWiki 1.1 is a big update!

Here’s a detailed changelog:

Added:

• By far the most requested feature, the ability to set a language independent of your Apple Watch language, is now supported! You’ll find the option in MiniWiki settings on your Apple Watch!

• Added ‘Random Article’ button

• If an article you try and read in your selected language is not available, you’ll be able to try it in English easily.

• ‘Tip’ and ‘Pro’ buttons now have some fun firework animations on the iOS app.

Changed:

• The image-finding algorithm is better now, so you should see images more often and see more relevant images.

MiniWiki for Apple Watch is available free in the App Store, and in-app purchases are available to unlock the “Pro” features. [GET IT HERE]
