Apple on Monday released the first developer beta of watchOS 6.1. The new beta comes a little less than a week after the public release of watchOS 6.
The watchOS 6.1 beta can be installed on Watches with the proper configuration profile installed, via the Apple Watch app on the device’s attached iPhone. Go to “General” -> “Software Update” to install the new software. The Apple Watch should have at least 50% battery life, be connected to a charger, and be in range of the iPhone.
It isn’t yet clear if there are any new features in the watchOS 6.1 beta. However, we do know that the initial version of the beta does support the Apple Watch Series 1 and Series 2. (The initial public release of watchOS 6 does not support the Apple Watch Series 1 and Series 2.)
