Spotify Premium Free Trial Period Extended to Three Months

Spotify on Thursday announced via its “On the Record” blog that it is extending its Spotify Premium free trial period to three months, up from the previous one month period users had to give the paid streaming music service.

The new three month trial period matches that of Spotify’s main competitor, Apple Music. Apple Music has offered a free three month trial of its paid option since the inception of the service.

Beginning August 22,* eligible users will receive the first three months on us for free when they sign up for Spotify Premium.** You’ll unlock a world of on-demand access to millions of hours of audio content—no matter when you sign up, winter, spring, summer, or fall.

Spotify says the offer will last for the foreseeable future, and is not a limited time offer. Users around the globe will have access to the three month free trial period, including Individual and Student Plans, available now.

The offer is open only to users who haven’t already tried Premium. The offer is not available on Headspace, non-recurring products, and most carrier billing (except for Individual in JP, AU, DE, CH and Student in JP).
