Spotify has announced that it is launching a new content filter for its Premium Family Plan to allow parents to impose better control over what their children can listen to.
The streaming music provider has put into place long-requested parental controls that will allow parents to control the Explicit Content Filter setting of all other accounts on their plan. The filter will prevent users from playing anything in the Spotify library that is marked as explicit.
The new filter is accessible from a new Family Hub, where the master account holder can add and remove family members. The content filter feature will be password protected. A new Family Mix feature is also now available, allowing everyone in the family access to personalized playlists.
The update is now available in Ireland and will rollout in all markets with Premium Family this fall. New features include:
Spotify’s $14.99 per month Family Plan allows up to six users to access the same subscription. (All users must live under the same roof.)
