Apple on Saturday sent out an email promoting its latest Apple Pay promotion. This time around, the promo has a charitable bent, one that will place funds into both the National Park Foundation and Apple’s coffers.
From August 17 through 25, Apple is donating $10 to the National Park Foundation for every purchase made with Apple Pay at any Apple Store, on apple.com, or in the Apple Store app.*
The National Park Foundation is is the official charitable partner of the National Park Service, and “together they work to protect and enhance everyone’s ability to enjoy the natural, cultural, and historic treasures within America’s national parks.”
The new promotion comes ahead of a National Park Fee-Free Day, Which is scheduled for August 25. One of five such days in 2019, the National Park Service waives all entrance fees on those days.
August 25th is also the date of the Apple Watch Activity Challenge celebrating the Grand Canyon’s 100th anniversary. Apple Watch users that walk, hike, run, or complete a wheelchair workout of at least three miles on that day will win a Grand Canyon-themed award. It is also the National Park Service’s birthday.
Yes, you saw an asterisk up there in paragraph #2, so here are the gotchas for the offer:
*Limited to the first 100,000 transactions. Subject to $10 minimum purchase. Promotion available in the U.S. only.
